AbegNo collects only the information necessary to provide our WhatsApp bookkeeping service:

  • WhatsApp phone number — Used as your account identifier
  • Transaction data — Customer names, product details, amounts, and dates you record through WhatsApp
  • Voice recordings — Only when you send voice notes; stored temporarily for processing and verification
  • Message metadata — Timestamps, message IDs, and delivery status
  • Customer contact information — Phone numbers and names you provide for payment reminders

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Process and store your business transaction records
  • Generate and send payment reminders to your customers
  • Provide business reports and credit score analysis
  • Send service updates, subscription notices, and support messages
  • Improve the accuracy of our AI models (anonymized and aggregated)

3. Data Storage & Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
  • Database access is restricted and audited
  • Voice recordings are automatically deleted after processing is verified
  • We comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except:

  • When required by law or valid legal process
  • With service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., OpenAI for AI processing, Meta for WhatsApp messaging) — bound by strict data processing agreements
  • With your explicit consent

5. Your Rights

Under Nigerian data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data

6. Data Retention

We retain your business records for as long as your account is active. Voice recordings are deleted within 30 days of processing. Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 90 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
